God is Creator

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

Psalm 19:1-6

Our world belongs to God. He created all things and all things were created for His glory. The beauty of a sunset, the kaleidoscope of trees that make up the rainforest, the ebbs and flows of the tide, the diversity of wildlife found from the hottest desert to the coldest mountaintop. All of it was created by the breath of His word. He is our Creator God and our world and everything in, below or above belongs to Him!

Reflect

Take some time to let this truth settle into your heart. Contemplate the beauty of His creation. What are some things that cause you to marvel at his handiwork? What is God speaking to you through these truths? Let your heart be in awe of its Maker.

Respond

How can you take some time today to delight in God’s creation and thank Him for it? Write down in a journal all that you are hearing and learning from the Lord.
