- Read through Luke 12:22-34. What are some similarities and differences between this passage and Matthew 6:25-34? Are there any added insights that comparing these passages brings to the overall message?
Discuss
- How do you imagine Jesus’ tone of voice when he says, “do not be anxious about your life” (Do you hear it as it harsh or condemning? Or do you hear it as Gentle? Compassionate? Or loving?) and why?
- Why do you think it so much easier to worry than to trust in God’s provision?
- How do we, in 2021, actively seek God’s kingdom and righteousness?
Prayer
The Bible says, in Philippians 4:6-7,
NET translation – “Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds[e] in Christ Jesus.”
MSG translation – Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”)
As a small group, (or groups of 3 or 4), let’s put this passage into practice! Share your requests with one another, and pray for each other. Thank God for who he is and what he has done, give the Lord your worries and anxieties, and let his peace guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Boat Wars/Mud Volleyball July 13 | 6:30-11pm
Have you ever wanted to build a boat using nothing but cardboard, duct tape, and sheer ingenuity!? Boat Wars is for you! Boat Wars takes the action and excitement of NASCAR off the land and onto the water. Get your team assembled and come ready to race your boat that has been constructed by your own hands for the ultimate prize- 10,000 dollars and a shot at the title…or bragging rights for an entire year! Oh, and we will have some mud volleyball happening! Come on out!
Beach Day July 27 | 7AM-9PM | Silver Beach, MI
Take your lazy summer days to the next level. On July 27 we are going to head to Michigan to experience a day on beautiful Silver beach. Beach Day is next level fun that will include an eventful road trip, sand volleyball, fun in the sun, and swimming in the mighty waves of lake Michigan….and ice cream! Lunch on the beach is provided in your $30 trip cost. (Bring extra money for a food stop on the way home)
