Digging In
If students have a Bible have them look up and read a couple passages about the Holy Spirit
26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. John 15:26,27
— What does this passage tell us about the Holy Spirit?
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 – What does this passage tell us about the Holy Spirit? John 14:15-18
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” John 16:12-15

Spiritual Breathing
Step 1 Exhale = Confess our sins. I John 1:9
A. Acknowledge – agree with God that our sins (actions/behaviors/attitudes) are wrong
B. Acknowledge -agree with God that Christ has already forgiven us because of Christ death on the cross. (All our sins past present and future have been paid for at the cross)
C. Repent = Turn our eyes/focus back to Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit our actions/behaviors and attitudes will follow
Step 2 Inhale
A. Ask the Lord to fill you with the power of His spirit moment by moment of every single day. Eph 5:18

Prayer
Ask the Holy Spirit to remind us of the truths of the Gospel this week. Ask the Lord to help remind you to practice spiritual breathing this week. Have students pray for the something specific that they would like the Holy Spirt to help them remember this week.
