Digging In
Leaders: I’d like to be carful not to open the door for students to dump on their parents…give them space to share but encourage them to be respectful. And…be wise with unhealthy situations between parent and student. If anyone has a situation with a parent that is potentially harmful or abusive or very unhealthy encourage them to talk to one of you after group or at a time you can meet to talk.
How would you describe your relationship with your parents?
What is something you recently found out about mom or dad that was a total (good or bad) surprise?
In what ways have you obeyed your parents but really don’t (didn’t) want to? In what ways are you not obeying and are hiding it?
What thought(s) come to mind when you hear the verse 6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”[ (Eph 6:1-3)

What would you say is the biggest conflict between you and your parents?
In what ways can you work to honor your parents after our conversation about relationships with parents?
In the message Jesse mentioned that the goal os the same for both you and you parents. Do you see this in your relationship with mom and dad (our guardian(s))?
Prayer
Pray over the students and ask the Lord to work in their hearts and the hearts of mom and dad.

Red River Gorge
- Summer Trip June 13-16This summer the high school ministry heading to an outdoor adventure to experience God through the natural beauty of His creation. On Monday June 13, 2022 we will venture into the wilderness of Red River Gorge KY. While we are there we will carve out space for mediation, prayer, time with Jesus, physical challenge and conversations all geared to help us grow in our intimacy with Jesus.
