Read Knowing Scripture by R.C. Sproul (Chapters 1-3) 

Once you have read the chapters and feel comfortable with the material  write out your responses to the following thought questions.  The more thorough you make your response, the more impact your answers will on your life 

  1. The title of Sproul’s first Chapter is “Why study the Bible?” How does Sproul answer his own question?
  2. How do the following terms relate to private interpretations of Scripture  (ch 2)

3. How wold you explain each of the following terms? (Ch 3) What is the significance of each

Once you have read the chapters and feel comfortable with the material  write out your responses to the following thought questions.  The more thorough you make your response, the more impact your answers will on your life 

  1. The author gives practical rules for interpreting Scripture in chapter four.  Pick out five rules which seem most significant to you and explain why they are significant
  2. What are some reasons you thing chapter four is the longest chapter in the book?
  3. Select one of the terms examined in Project 1.  Create a hypothetical situation that begins when a well meaning Christian, misunderstanding of one of these terms, ends up in heresy 
  4. Point out how a correct understanding of the term would correct his/her error.
  5. List the primary factors which lead Christians to be reluctant in studying the Bible.
