• What is your favorite part about the Christmas season? What is your least favorite?
• Would you rather have a real Christmas tree or a fake tree?
• Would you rather be an elf or a reindeer? (Which reindeer?)
• If Santa was real what would be his favorite beverage?

Digging In

• Have you ever seen someone put aside his or her wants in order to follow God’s will? How did that person’s actions influence your own faith? (What about Mary?….or Jesus in the garden? )
• Talk about a time when you felt a tension between God’s will and your own. What did you do?
• Have you ever had to give something up—a dream, an ambition, money, career advancement—in order to follow Jesus? Tell us more….
• What is one area of your life that you need to say no to yourself and follow Jesus? What can this group do to support you?

Discuss

• From the message…you may have heard,, “God’s hand can’t be forced. His will can’t be thwarted. That god doesn’t exist.” How does that statement challenge the way you think about God? What comfort do you find in it? 

Recap: It’s better to follow God’s will than to try to impose our own. Following God’s will means wanting what he wants more than what we want. For most of us, that begins with wanting to want what he wants more than what we want.

Prayer: “Heavenly Father, I want to want what you want more than what I want.” 

Verse:  “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42 

Whats Happening!

Tuesday Night December 14 we will not be gathering!

But Thursday Night December 16 is our huge amazing Christmas bash!! Ho Ho Holy cow it’s time to party! Let’s celebrate as this year comes to an end. There will be snacks, games, and prizes. We challenge you to wear your ugliest Christmas sweater! See you then! Doors open at 6:30pm and we will party until 10pm..ish!!
