Getting Started

  • If you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would you choose and why?
  • If you could commit any crime and get away with it what would you choose and why?
  • If you could write a book, what genre would you write it in? Mystery? Thriller? Romance? Historical fiction? Non-fiction?

Digging In

  • Josh talked about a man waiting 38 years waiting to be healed! That’s a long time to wait for something!  Question: When have you felt that God was taking too long to do something you’d trusted Him to do? When has God shown up in big ways? 
  • Josh talked about people coming to the pool hoping that it would heal them! He also talked about the disappointment of the man who couldn’t get to the pool to find healing.Question: Where do people tend to place their hope in? What do you tend to place your hope in? What causes our hope to fade away? 
  • Jesus talked about something worse happening if this man continued going down the same path..Remember Jesus wasn’t condemning him. He was giving him a fresh new look on life. Question: What things or situations in your life do you need to revaluate or look at differently? Can you share an example?

Discuss

  • How is your soul? Go around the cricle. Students can pass but encourge an anaswer. Take note of what they say. Add any specifics to your prayer list. Maybe some students need a follow up queston after group.
  • Josh talked about his soul needing daily healing.. Question: In what way has Jesus healed your soul?

A Prayer for Spirutal Healing

God, I’m so thankful you want to be in relationship with me. My spirit is overwhelmed with sadness. It’s so scary to show a happy spirit to the world again, when my hopes in my earthly relationships have crumbled. It feels like a fever that won’t subside.

Can I give this relationship entirely to you, the great physician ? Even though my faith is failing, I bring you my part, in supplication and prayer with thanksgiving, that you would show me your power. Show me your great plan so I can stay in step with you.

I trust you to heal what is within your will and for the good of all. In Jesus’ powerful name, amen.

A Prayer for Courage

Dear God, my fears are getting the best of me, and I just can’t get well in my spirit. I feel shaken, frustrated, and terrified. Will you show me your plan is good? Will you take this anxiety now and exchange it for peace?
Right now, I choose to believe that you did not give me this spirit of fear that’s toying with me. Lord, breathe into me again, the spirit you breathed into me when you created me. Reassure me that you are holding me even when waters are deep and storms continue.

Pick up my spirit, God, and embolden me to be a front-line believer with a courageous spirit. In Jesus name Amen.

A Prayer for the Furits of the Spirit

Father, I feel like a branch broken off from the vine. I come to you in prayer today to wrap myself fully around you. Develop in me a spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
I give my regrets, anger, anxiety, fear, and all my soul wounds to you for healing. I cannot do it alone. As I pray, I surrender every obstacle I prop up to reject your presence in my spirit. Renew in me a steadfast spirit of faith in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Whats Happening!?

Red River Gorge 

Summer Trip June 13-16 This summer the high school ministry heading on an outdoor adventure to experience God through the natural beauty of His creation.  On Monday, June 13, 2022, we will venture into the wilderness of Red River Gorge KY.  While we are there we will carve out space for mediation, prayer, time with Jesus, physical challenge, and conversations all geared to help us grow in our intimacy with Jesus.  We will return on Thursday, June 16.  Space is limited! Register Here!

Leaders you are welcome to be part of all of these trips/events!  But it is not my expectation that you be on all the trips/events. Summer Plans will be discussed on May 1 at our leader celebration – Don’t forget to RSVP
