Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.

Eventually we all decide where we will place our trust. The pure in heart person i.e. the authentic or honest person understands that ultimate trust must be placed in Jesus. It’s not our efforts, performance or our good looks that matter.

Jesus says blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God. That last part of the verse, see God. Can have the idea of experiencing God. Experiencing His presence changes us and imparts to our souls something that nothing else does. Security. Joy. Peace.

It sure seems like Jesus was encouraging his audience and us to come with sincerity as we approach God. It isn’t about our inherent goodness having to be perfect. God is pleased with us when we come to Him with a pure heart or a heart that needs cleansing. He is able to cleanse any part of our corrupted heart that needs it. He just wants us to come to Him.
