
Dis-ease
The last few days have simply been unprecedented. Unknown. Unsure. Unknown. We are in the midst of something new. This COVID-19/Coronavirus. virus has brought us to a new place and has left everyone with unanswered questions. This is the moment before the bigger moment that may or may not be coming. The lights are still off. The monster is still in the closet…at least it might be…I heard this from a mentor friend, this disease has created dis-ease. We are all uneasy about all that is happening on planet earth. There is a disturbance in the force…which what I am sure Darth Vader would be saying if he was here in the now.
This dis-ease is so real because we don’t know from where the danger is coming. Its like fighting an invisible man who can strike at anytime, but you just can’t see it coming. You can see an army marching against you, you can see an assailant coming at you. But a virus with so much unknown we just can’t see it. That is where our fear, or anxiety, or worry or concern or panic flows.
The good new is that your are not alone in all of this. This is a crisis that leaves very few humans undisturbed. It has slowly found its way into our lives, our homes, our communicates, our churches, our schools and our business…and our lives.
The best news is that God is present.
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.Psalm 46:1-3
Read this as a possible prayer May the knowns of God outweigh the unknowns of God and our world. May Jesus be our rock and where we place our trust. He is still out king and we are His people…and His love is still surrounding us, holding us, and protecting us.
A verse to hang onto…
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Eph 3:17-19
